With Tottenham Hotspur’s potential interest in midfielder Tanguy Ndombele still rumbling on with talk of negotiations ongoing at this moment in time, the 22-year-old Lyon starlet gave the rumour mill a bump over the weekend as he spoke out about the speculation surrounding him this summer and he certainly didn’t seem against a move to Spurs.
Describing us as a ‘great team’ and stating who ‘would not be interested in a big club’ whilst some fans noted that he had left things quite deliberately open as he ended the comment, others felt it was the quintessential ‘come and get me plea’ and they urged chairman Daniel Levy to get the deal done.
Basically that’s saying yes. Lo celso also has said he wants Pochettino. Levy has no more excuses

Imagine if we sign him, Celso AND keep Eriksen

Oh my gosh, this is a code from Tanguy

The last sentence worries me. He's left it open to join any "big" club. He didn't specifically say Spurs. This is the one signing I hope we get over the line. Everything else is bonus ????

The reaction is understandable but it’s difficult to get too carried away with summer speculation as the press are rarely ever correct. Whilst it’s a boost to see the player officially namecheck the club, his words could’ve been far stronger and in the wider interview he also indicated he wouldn’t be making a decision on his future until next month – so even if we have a concrete interest here, the player is understandably weighing his options, so fans shouldn’t expect a quick announcement.
And that’s something Levy nor the club can control.
