News: Tottenham intend to offload troubled star in January

|

The Daily Mirror is reporting that Tottenham Hotspur want to sell Christian Eriksen in January rather than lose him for free in the summer.

Eriksen has made his desire to leave very clear, and he has his eyes on a move to Real Madrid and it looks like Spurs want to at least make some money from a player they have invested six years into.

The Dane, who earns £75,000 per week, has rejected numerous contract offers from Tottenham and feels he has gone as far as he can with the club.

Spurs were worried the 27-year-old would run down his contract and then leave next summer, but a report from ESPN suggests that Real Madrid will now buy Eriksen in January because of their poor start to the season.

Zinedine Zidane wants a midfielder, preferably Paul Pogba, but that move looks difficult – so Eriksen is the alternative.

Spurs wanted over £100m for the Dane in the summer, but that price tag put Real off and has left Tottenham with an unhappy player not performing at the top of his game.

It was a mistake by Daniel Levy, but he may get lucky because Real’s terrible start may force them into action in the transfer market.

Eriksen may only be a few months away from his dream move to Madrid.
