News: Tottenham fans given fantastic news as youngster commits future

|

Tottenham supporters have long been used to seeing their star players tied down to long contracts owing to the way that Daniel Levy works. The Spurs Chairman will do anything to get the most out of players that leave the club, and keeping players on long contract helps him to do just that.

According to Transfermarkt, both Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son are on long deals, with Kane tied down until 2024 and Son until 2023, and the latest man to sign a new deal with the Lilywhites is the youngster Harvey White, who has signed a deal with the club until 2023.

The starlet impressed the fans during the club’s pre-season tour of Singapore and China, and the fans are delighted to see that White will now be set to stay at the club for the foreseeable future. Whether or not this is a sign that he may get some senior minutes or not, though, is another matter.

However, Jose Mourinho has received great joy from throwing Japhet Tanganga into the deep end in the Premier League, and whilst the demand isn’t there for White to be playing minutes, it’s certainly something that could happen after he’s signed this three and a half year deal (tottenhamhotspur.com)

The statement from Tottenham says the following:

‘We are delighted to announce that Harvey White has signed a new contract with the Club, which runs until 2023.’

‘The 18-year-old central midfielder featured for the first team during our summer programme of International Champions Cup and Audi Cup fixtures.’

‘This season, he has made 15 appearances in all competitions for our Development Squad, in addition to starting all six group stage matches in the UEFA Youth League.’
