With Tottenham Hotspur youngster Troy Parrott getting his senior bow for the Republic Of Ireland as they faced New Zealand in a friendly during the November international break, having seriously impressed both manager Mick McCarthy and plenty of fans, the 17-year-old talent worked his way onto the bench for their crunch qualifier against Denmark on Monday night.
As I’m typing ahead of the game, he may or may not get his competitive bow from the bench, but given the week he’s had it’s absolutely no surprise to see reports claiming that Spurs have already opened negotiations on a new contract in light of his further development.
There had already been spurious reports at the end of October claiming that Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund may ask us a question come the New Year, so it’s perfectly understandable as to why the news of a potential new contract was so well greeted within the fanbase on social media.
This is the news I like to hear ????????????????????????????????????

Can see us losing him to CHELSEA or Man Utd if he doesn’t get game time
And who could blame him?
Some of our positional answers are surely under our noses, in our ranks & yet everyone thinks we should go out & spend money, risking time and money in blending them into the squad

The next Harry Kane, if handled properly.

Surely needs a chance in the first team

Any chance he’s just going to let his contract run out like the others?
