News: Former Tottenham player looking to move back to England

|

Lewis Holtby is a name that many Spurs fans won’t have heard for a while, and surely that name will send shivers down their spines?

The now 28-year-old was signed in January 2013 from Schalke, but the move did not work out, and the German only managed to make 42 appearances for Spurs scoring three goals and providing eight assists.

He was then farmed out on loan to Fulham, but Holtby still struggled to produce any form, and he left Spurs in the summer of 2015 to go to Hamburg.

His career there has not gone well either, and he is now looking for a club – after he was released in the summer.

The former Schalke man is looking at a return to England and is said to be in talks with Blackburn Rovers in what would be a surprising move.

He may never have shown what he was capable of in the Premier League, but surely Holtby would thrive in the Championship, and if Blackburn were to complete his signing it could turn out to be a very smart piece of business.
