More LASK Gasps For Spurs As We Go Through, But The Group Goes To The Final Game – Match Stats

|

Thursday evening’s mean only one thing for Tottenham Hotspur fans – Europa League clashes – and tonight’s game against LASK turned into a tale of two penalties and a very nervy final ten minutes.

Everyone knew manager Jose Mourinho would make significant changes once again, but we did put out quite a strong squad on paper for a game we all felt we should win. LASK hadn’t read that script though and a very poor and below par performance saw us scrape to a less than inspiring draw.

The hosts took the lead as the half time break neared and we needed a stoppage time penalty to go in on level terms – Bale the scorer.

It was a slightly improved start to the second half with Son Heung-Min giving us the advantage, but LASK were the better side. With six left on the clock the levelled, but we responded two minutes later with another penalty, this time Dele Alli getting on the scoresheet.

Three minutes into stoppage time again the hosts hit to make it 3-3.

A draw was enough to see us through to the next round with a game to spare, but if we have designs on winning the group, we absolutely have to beat an already impressive Royal Antwerp in the final group clash.
