“More Injuries Than Anderton” “Liability” – These Spurs Fans Are Astounded As Player Injures Himself Whilst Being Injured

Tottenham Hotspur right back Serge Aurier hasn’t had the best of times at White Hart Lane following his switch back in 2017 from Paris St-Germain.

The 26-year-old Ivory Coast international has only made 39 starting appearances for manager Mauricio Pochettino in his time at the club with Keiran Trippier largely preferred in the first team and having already picked up an ankle injury during this summer’s Africa Cup of Nations competition, he’s seemingly managed to injure himself whilst being injured.

I’m not sure why, but it tickled me. At least neither injury was serious.

The Daily Mail reported earlier this week that having already been ruled out of action with an ankle problem prior to Thursday evening’s Quarter Final clash with Algeria (they lost on penalties) Aurier further complicated things by injuring his wrist during a ‘frank exchange of views’ at the halftime break during their previous game.

“We got a little heated, because in the game we were not good. I hit the table and there you go.”

Aurier was listed as being on the bench for the Algeria clash according to the BBC’s so clearly there are no lasting effects from his ankle issue, but he was unused in the game.

Given the differing opinions in the fanbase on Aurier and what kind of future he should have at Spurs, reaction to this news was quite comical and made a nice change from endless transfer speculation.
