Maybe Jose Is Still The Special One – Three On The Spin But Spurs Have Issues To Address – Match Stats & Reaction

|

Well, it’s certainly turned into a couple of interesting weeks for Tottenham Hotspur and today’s clash against Bournemouth at White Hart Lane was no different.

With Pochettino slipping into the rearview for some fans, Jose Mourinho has certainly had an impact on our current form and many would argue in helping to revitalise Dele Alli in particular who helped himself to a brace in today’s Premier League clash.

With a rare and mildly shocking goal coming from Moussa Sissoko as well, we looked pretty comfortable at 3-0 but defensive issues came to the fore again and the visitors made it a nervy ending as they hit back twice.

They couldn’t find the leveller though, so it was three wins on the trot for our new gaffer and our first back to back top flight victories of the year. The win moves us up into fifth place and plenty of fans will be breathing easier tonight.

Speaking to the BBC following the game, Mourinho rightly praised Alli again, as he now has three in three.

“He plays in a position where he feels happy and comfortable. We also give him space for his creativity which he always has. I think he played three phenomenal matches since I arrived. For me Dele is not a midfield player, he is a player to play like he is playing, close to Harry. I think this is the best position for him. He’s the best thing that can happen to a coach because everybody speaks about him, you, the fans speak about him for the right reasons. He’s playing really, really, really well and I could not ask any more from him.”
