  • HT – have you been drinking? You have got the score the wrong way round. It is not being miserable but I cannot see a. Way that Spurs can win today. Even when Liverpool are off their game they still win. And in all honesty we are not a team that is capable of stopping the opposition from playing. In all our recent games, our opposition have played better than expected whereas we have been awful.
So it’s Spurs 0 Liverpool 5. Jose out. ENIC out. I’m not miserable though. I can’t wait for this game. COYS

  • Not been drinking yet DH…

But It was a cheeky reaction to your Spurs losing 0-5.

And, I never said anyone or you were being miserable. Just that I’m not 😉

I know it’s not that good at the moment as well. It’s just that I believe that we are still good enough to get much better…

If we do beat Liverpool… That’ll be a sweet start to it all…

  • 📋 #THFC: Gazzaniga, Aurier, Tanganga, Alderweireld (C), Sanchez, Rose, Winks, Eriksen, Dele, Lucas, Son.

Subs: Vorm Vert Sess Dier Skipp Lamela Lo Celso

  • Good luck to Tanganga who makes his debut. But what an earth has Rose done to deserve a place apart from being spectacularly appalling this season and saying he will run his contract down and then leave. What a shocking insult to Sessegnon. Dele should also be dropped. On his current form he will be completely overwhelmed by the Liverpool midfield.

  • Who had guessed Tanganga and Rose would be in the team? (I thought Rose was injured)…

It’s an attacking line-up…. On paper! On screen!

  • It’s funny DH… Ypor raction to mine…
I looked at Rose and Tanganga and I was pleased to see them both. Tanganga because he is a good talent. Young strong and fresh. And Rose, because Sessegnon just isn’t strong enough there at all… Not yet!

  • TQ2 – you honestly still harbour hopes of top 4?! AND you often call me an optimist on here lol! No chance IMHO – we’ll be lucky to get a top 6 finish at this rate and then the poisoned chalice of EL for next season.

Like you am hoping we can somehow snare Fernandes away from Utd/Sporting – doubt it but here’s hoping anyway – what a player – cannot believe has not been snapped up already tbh.

Great to see Tanganga get a chance – what a match to do it in – quicker than Verts so it does make sense and as I said earlier we may aswell start blooding players properly in preparation for next season and beyond.

As for Sess tend to agree with HT he’s not yet upto playing LB full-time especially against Salah and Arnold down that wing – hopefully Rose can contain them as best possible.

Not expecting much – would atleast love a performance that we could build upon – counter-attack could be interesting though with 2 good passers in Winks and Eriksen in the middle and the pace of Moura and Sonny up front – we’d need to ride our luck but it’s not completely a foregone conclusion atleast I hope not – that’s the most optimistic I can be at the moment.

  • Klopp. Sprinting to the dressing room. Clearly not happy with Liverpool’s performance. They should be at least three ahead. Shocking negativity from Jose

  • Correct result. Beaten by a team on another level. Defence and keeper played well. Midfield impotent. Little up front. At least we kept them down to one. But we are dropping down the table. Winks…was he playing? Sell him. Eriksen left 12 months ago. Lo Celso not waste money on him. Time for Lamela to go..he has potential but it never comes off. Sell him. Tanganga did ok. Aurier. Sell him. Rose no longer the player he was . Sell him. Hmmm. Not much left. Bit like the Labour Party… we have to climb back and recognise we were totally outplayed and overawed. We are now a mid table team and Labour are unelectable.

  • Better teams than us have been overpowered by this great team so I am not happy but relieved. Eriksen winks and Dele are not capable of dominating midfield. They are not warriors. Sissoko can be but he is not a quarterback type to direct things. I think Jose did the right thing today or we would have been mullered.

  • There’s definitely something to build on there – we should have got a point – Sonny and Lo Celso should have buried their chances. Moura excellent – fantastic work rate – to be fair most of the team worked their socks off and we deserved something – pleasantly surprised given the quality of opposition. If we play like that against everybody we’ll win more than we lose that’s for sure. Onwards and upwards – this season is all about mounting the learning curve and preparing for the long term future!

  • First hour. Totally outclassed – should have been three or four down. Eriksen and Rose then go off and we are a different team. Could have easily got a point. Liverpool are a great team but as soon as we got after them, we forced them into mistakes. I hope Jose learns from this(I doubt it). Defend, defend, defend is no way to play the modern game. I disagree with Wentworth re Le Celso. Once he gets used to the premier league he will be a fine player. And considering Tanganga was playing his first game, I thought he did really well.
One thing is for sure, Eriksen and Rose must never get near the first team again.

  • DH I agree on Lo Celso and he’s not expensive given his talent at £40m odd in total if bought outright this month. Would love us to get Bruno Fernandes also but remains to be seen. Gedson Fernandes is a Benfica youth product so should be pretty tasty given the amount of talent they have produced lately and continue to do so. Want to see what we get upto this month – it could be/should be/has to be the start of us getting back to the top properly and staying there.

  • Tangana bar being turned for the goal good for a debut, different grade to Verts this year who now seems slower than my Mum. Shame we only turned it on so deep into the game but some promising signs.
Shame Lamela is made of glass and with a Eriksen if he won’t go or we can’t sell this window, I’d pay out the remainder of his contract and get rid. This is something that would have been unthinkable 18 months ago, but his presence anywhere near the team is a classic example of a waste of a space. Same said of D Rose too.
Had to watch in the end in the same way I did Dr Who as a kid – from behind a pillow !
