Match Thread – Howe Will Spurs Take Bournemouth’s Cherries

|

Whilst Tottenham Hotspur’s victory over Everton at the beginning of the week was hardly a classic or the kind of performance that fans wanted to see, it at least returned three points and if nothing else, manager Jose Mourinho has to end the season with more positives than negatives to give us some momentum going into the 2020/21 campaign.

Thursday’s clash with Bournemouth at Dean Court won’t be any easier, despite their lowly league position as we simply can’t trust our own performances levels and forms in the way we had become accustomed.

Europe feels like a pipe dream now with so many points to make up for, but our recent defeat left most thinking that way.

Bournemouth...

Win

Draw

Lose

Get the win, put in a performance with improvement and the vast majority of fans would no doubt take that at this stage of the year with so few games left. Next year has its own questions to be answered – but that’s for a later date.

Some momentum, some continuity and then some big decisions need to be made.

This squad hasn’t turned bad overnight…but something needs to change. if our aims haven’t.

German striker Jurgen Klinsmann spent two years at White Hart Lane in separate spells, but how many league goals did he contribute?

Danny …. Further to TQ’s comment re this site …. who is responsible for fixing it? Surely someone must be held accountable.

HT… I agree with your post 11am. There will be critical problems if we don’t win.. and more about the way we win. As BS said spurs fans on here are critical of everything Jose does. But the fact is he has tactical plans for each game, thats why he has won 25 trophies… poch, as good as we played no trophies to show for it

Chelsea played a 433 shape when wining trophies with jose, that is a good system IMO.,, it;s proven successful by all top teams in Europe, over the past 20yrs. Just need our players to get over the Poch. way of doing things and back Jose. also same for Levy & THFC board. Then we can see spurs win games. COYS

The times are a testing, we will get through it, simple! COYS

Off topic ere, just read that Oliver is taking our game v the Gooners on Sunday, well we know exactly which way the NLD is going now don’t we, lucky win with a pen for the Goons and with at least 1 red card for us. COYS

  • DoncasterHotspur says:

No N’Dombele again. Jose clearly wants to sell him, one of the most gifted players in Europe. Several Spurs players make mistake after mistake and keep getting picked. N’Dombele doesn’t even get a chance. Jose out.

  • TQ2Spurs says:

First half was dreadful, we are making the Cherries look like CL contenders! Slow, boring, pedestrian, totally lacking in confidence but denied a clear penalty. How long is Levy going to put up with the crap being served up at the behest of the once maybe (but no longer) Messiah?

  • Hot Tottingham says:

If by some luck or chance we go on to win this match, I won’t be any happier getting the 3 points than if we get nothing…..

    This is beyond bad…

  • TK says:

What absolute bollox that match was. Could our team be less inspired or inspiring?

  • TK says:

What’s the sense of posting when we don’t see the post for hours? The football match was crap and the site is frustration. WTF.

  • TK says:

vs a team probably headed for relegation and cannot get a shot near the goal. how the daring have fallen.

  • Hot Tottingham says:

We didn’t lose. We kept a clean sheet.

But can anyone can tell me if that was at all good? Can anyone say they enjoyed that?

The players looked totally incapable of doing anything worthwhile. Now, I can’t be sure if that is down to Jose or not. But frankly, I don’t give a damn.

I shoulda watched a movie… Even a really bad movie would’ve been preferable to that shower of a performance.

Bournemouth 0 – 0 Spurs …….Clueless, Utterley Clueless! Bournemouth Stuffed by almost every team in the PL including Newcastle and we cant score one goal from open play. So its Lost one (Sheff U) – drawn one (Man U) Won Won (West Ham) ! Now its Won one (Everton) -Drawn One (Bournemouth) Gooners on Sunday………. ? Do I detect a trend? Great move Levy once again ! Poch…best Manager for years …sacked! Moaning Morinho….
total has been ? Great Training Ground …. World Class Stadium …. Shit Team!….. Nice one Levy …. The Chartered Accountant Strikes again! Hope your tucked up nice and cosy on your £500m yacht Joe Lewis enjoying an evening cigar and vintage Brandy whilst looking at your £1bn Art Collection. Thats the way to run a football club; increase the value of the property portfolio but buy shit players who dont fit in…
Danny Levy give yourself a pay rise …..screw how many managers you sack as long as your pay goes up! eh?

  • wentworth says:

Well, well, well. What an utter shambles. Not one shot on target against a relegation side. Who was our best defender. Yep Harry Kane. I also noticed that Eddie Howe was up and down encouraging, cajoling and organising. Jose was too busy doing a crossword, I think. The players have lost confidence and look confused and demoralised…now who is responsible for that? Either the coach or the manager!!! I cannot remember when Spurs have played such atrocious, boring football. Thank goodness I didn’t travel to watch this rubbish. Is there anyone on here who condones the way we played? Pease Levy do your usual.

  • TQ2Spurs says:

Please get Moaninho out now and ask Chris Hughton to take caretaker charge until we can get a decent manager ………. or beg Poch to come back.

  • TK says:

not a damned shot on goal? Spurs vs relegation -level team and not able to put a shot on goal? Not one bloody shot on goal? Utterly and completely disgusted. José Mourniho should respond to this disgrace by leaving. Bloody hell. The manager should refuse to deposit his pay check. He hasn’t earned sheet.

  • block 108 spurs says:

TK…. I saw the match… I feel yours and other spurs fans pain. I have to say currently…Jose’s way of playing is hard for any genuine spurs fan to watch. A clear penalty on HK10 all day long… ref & VAR ignored it !!

We are in the dark days of bad luck and team rebuild and Levy / Joe / Board Directors have to step up now, and get things moving on transfers.

  • total knobhead says:

i’ll donate to the tar-and-feather fund. put the little Moor on a rail, cover generously with tar, add feathers. Run out of town. Advise the mofo strongly not to show his face again. at his own peril. If he is still associate with our club on this coming Sunday, I’ll chip in to the same fund for treatment of D bloody L.

  • Spurfect One says:

To me it looks like the players are being coached so rigid they’re scared to express themselves. I’m all for defensive discipline, but this is to the extreme. I haven’t seen this awful football from Spurs in nearly 40 years of watching them.

  • Pauric says:

Forget about Mourinho he’s only a symptom of what’s wrong at this club, its the disease that needs to be eradicated from the club Levy and fat Joe.This fiasco is going along the road I envisaged mid table mediocre football club. The Levy lovers will not hear a bad word said about him deluded fools.

    • Spurfect One says:

Under Mourinho possession and shots on goal have fallen something near 20%. Although he isn’t entirely to blame and we do need additions, he should still be getting a tune out of this squad a hell of a lot more than he is!
