Match Thread – Can Dinamo Harry Upset Zagreb’s Firm Or Will A Sonny Gareth Moura Bale Out Spurs

|

Although the Fulham clash proved to be a bit tight and tricky for Tottenham Hotspur, there is little doubting we have better found our attacking groove again with 13 goals coming in our last four games.

The latest awesome foursome being the 4-1 demolition of Crystal Palace last Sunday, but Thursday evening’s Europa League test will be a different story as we face Dinamo Zagreb on home soil in our first leg of the Round of 16 tie.

The players should certainly continue to be in good spirits after our return to winning ways lately, but we can undoubtedly expect manager Jose Mourinho to again make changes. The only question is how many changes as plenty of fans would like to see him continue with our forward line as they are now really developing a better understanding with Gareth Bale, and it’s no surprise to see our upturn in form linked with his own personal improvements.

So do we go strong and hope to establish a lead and then use our substitutes to the full in the second period to rest people, or do we rest people now and think longer term and for example, get decent minutes into Giovani Lo Celso who may return for this one following his spell on the sidelines.

With confidence and optimism boosted recently, it’s all to play for again and let’s just hope, regardless of any changes, we see a continuation of our attacking threat.

Apologies for the headline, I’m in one of those moods.

    Hi all
Glad you all enjoyed the match and appreciate your counter comments to my take on it .
Would be good to have a chat over a pint .
Onwards and upwards as 6 of our next 7 matches ( inc Wembley ) are away fixtures . If the team can perform and play exciting , scoring goals , footie we could end up in a really strong position on the Prem and Uefa fronts . Who know that if we can beat City ( big ask ) Mourinho will be the new Messiah !!! keeping his job and Bale will stay for another year !!

  • Geofspurs says:

Allan …. Remember what happened to the last Messiah?

  • TQ2Spurs says:

He’s not the Messiah…..he’s a very naughty boy!

  • TK says:

Chelskum dropped two point today, this is an invitation for the HOT Spurs to overtake them. Heat those Spurs, you Spurs. COYS. ride forth tomorrow with HOT Spurs. To attack is to put pressure on the other side, and this is needed for a good defense. Put the fear of HOT Spurs into the opposition.

  • TK says:

I hate to say this in the context to the diabolical Mourinho, but the “last Messiah” was a true Yid who resurrected his team, overcoming crucifixion along the way. In spite of the probability that a run of overwhelming wins would lead Mourinho to keep his job, I still want that string of wins. God help me. I want a true theological miracle: win all remaining matches and sweep into the top couple of spots, and see Mourinho sacked. unlikely, but the topic raised by other comments does concern miracles. Win them all, fire Mourinho, and give the manager’s job to 4 King Ledley. Now that’s my dream ending to this season.

  • TK says:

we have two games in hand to Chelsea and win them both we’re level with them on points. we can smell top four from where we are. It’s ours to take. and that doesn’t require a miracle. sacking Mourinha at the same time would take a miracle, but to dare is to realize. dare to sack the sap. dare to run the board. believe with all your heart. Spurs in. Mourinho out. For the love of the almighty.
