Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Victor Wanyama hasn’t had the best of campaigns so far in 2018/19 given the injury issues he had that kept him out of contention until mid-September, but I don’t think it’s unfair to say speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United would be better timed in the media if it came during the November international break.
It would then at least be something to talk about, coming this week as it did, he was mainly laughed at and dismissed instantly.
[TuttoSport] reports Man Utd are looking for a Paul Pogba replacement and they claim they have ‘probed’ Tottenham Hotspur for Victor Wanyama.
Wanyama has a contract with Spurs until 2021, so the club wouldn’t be under pressure to sell unless it absolutes suits them.#THFC #COYS pic.twitter.com/ofa7FiVmq2

The claim came originally from Italian outfit Tuttosport and although the 27-year-old more than has his fans at Spurs, being referenced in any way as a potential replacement for Paul Pogba takes a Leap of Faith I certainly can’t make.
It’s the proverbial chalk and cheese comparison and maybe I’ve read, as have others, too literally into what they meant but with that being the hook, it received the predictable response.
I really do like Wanyama but can you imagine thinking he is a Pogba replacement??? ????
