Tottenham Hotspur travelled to Old Trafford yesterday evening looking for a much-needed victory over Manchester United to keep our unbeaten start to the Premier League campaign of 2018/19 going.
United had opportunities to take advantage in the game but having seen their efforts off, Spurs took charge with a Harry Kane header five minutes after the halftime restart. Lucas Moura quickly doubled our advantage two minutes later and he capped a fine performance to complete his brace with six minutes left in regulation time.
3-0, all three points and Jose Mourinho went all Aretha Franklin following the fulltime whistle – so a decent evening all around really.
With 26-year-old Moura taking the headlines with his brace, his performance won plenty of friends on the night and it seems his reported £25million fee from Paris Saint-Germain last January will be an absolute snip if he keeps performing like that for us now he really seems to have found his feet.
Whoscored gave the Brazilian a match rating of 9.01 for his before with two goals from two, one key pass and a pass accuracy of 55.6%. Also put in a shift on a defensive ethos, one tackle, three interceptions, two fouls and one clearance so a reasonably rounded effect on the night – that also saw him pick a yellow card to grow another tally.
The top five performers on their algorithm were completed by Hugo Lloris (7.98), Dele Alli (7.95), Toby Alderweireld (7.85) and Kieran Trippier (7.79).
A pretty impressive performance from everyone across the board and will continue to do confidence the world of good.
