The news reported by Football Insider that Napoli may confirm the signing of Kieran Trippier after the Champions League final has been greeted with joy amongst large proportions of the fanbase.
It is the result of a broadly mediocre season from the England international, and a move that some fans have called for since January.
Football Insider suggested that Levy was looking for a fee of £50million, but The Independent reports that the figure is closer to the £25m mark.
That would still represent a £2omillion profit on the right-back signed from Burnley in 2016, and after three years of mostly good service, it is a transfer that has worked out well for the club.
Some fans have already turned their attention to possible replacements, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka a name mentioned.
Here’s hoping that if the final is Trippier’s last game for the club, he goes with a bang. Another free-kick like the one against Croatia would do very nicely.
