“Made In Tottenham” & Now “Officially The Best In The World” – Former Spurs Favourite Takes The Praise

|

For any Tottenham Hotspur fans who managed to avoid any and all news from last night and earlier this morning, former player – now Real Madrid – Luka Modric broke Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s stranglehold on the Ballon d’Or last night to lift the trophy.

The 33-year-old becomes the first different player to lift the trophy, other than the aforementioned two, since 2007 and having spent roughly four years at White Hart Lane, establishing himself as a firm fan favourite before he made the switch to the Santiago Bernabeu, plenty of fans on social media were delighted with his achievement and took credit for the part we played in the Croatians development.

With just over 150 appearances to his name in our shirt, it’s a shame we couldn’t hold onto him longer. The player he could’ve continued to be for us is ably demonstrated by the comments above and plenty would be willing to welcome him back if it ever became a possibility.
