With reports over the weekend suggesting that Juventus may have joined the likes of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich in the apparent chase for future Tottenham Hotspur legend Troy Parrott, there was every reason given the specifics of the report to not entirely take it seriously.
Report Claims Italian Side Join European Giants In Chase For Spurs Starlet
Italian outlet Calcio Mercato made all the expected links in their claim, namechecking Harry Kane and Robbie Keane, and the clubs listed with having a potential interest in his services were simply those European giants that we faced during pre-season in both the International Champions Cup and Audi Cup tournaments – where of course, 17-year-old Republic of Ireland Under 21 international Parrott, excelled and impressed.
Whilst undoubtedly clubs are paying more attention to him as he scored on his Under 21 debut and then added two more in his second Republic game over the September international break, there’s every reason for scepticism here and fans reacting to the reports on social media, were more than happy to laugh them off.
