Loanee Round-Up: Positive injury news for Winks and Reguilon

|

Due to his ongoing injury issues Harry Winks reportedly returned to London this week to get his injury checked by a specialist. The midfielder who is on loan at Sampdoria, came out ‘relieved’ from the meeting, which suggests that he got some positive news.

There was also some good news for Sergio Reguilon this week – as it looks as if he may soon be back to full fitness, as he made it to the bench for the first time this season in Atletico Madrid’s 3-2 defeat away Cadiz.

Irish forward, Troy Parrott is also still recovering from an injury of his own, having undergone hamstring surgery just under two weeks ago.

Tanguy Ndombele was a second half substitute as Napoli maintained their five-point lead at the top of Serie A with a 4-0 thrashing of Sassuolo. The Frenchman also impressed midweek in the Champions League, in which he was unlucky to get goal in Napoli’s 3-0 win over Rangers.

Giovani Lo Celso started as his Villarreal side were defeated 1-0 by Athletic Bilbao. However, some reassuring news for Lo Celso would be Villarreal’s appointment of Quique Setien – following Unai Emery’s exit to join Aston Villa.

Lo Celso has previously thrived under Setien – when the pair were both at Real Betis – with the Argentinian becoming one of La Liga’s best midfielders under Setien’s stewardship.

Despite his side flattering to deceive in their 0-0 draw with struggling Cremonese, Destiny Udogie impressed, as during the game he won possession 10 times in the defensive third – a record amount this season.

In a recent interview with Sky Italia the wing-back stated:

“Now I’m here at Udinese, I’m focused.

“From next year I’ll think about Tottenham. I know it’s the most difficult, beautiful and intense league. I follow the team, to see how they play and what players there are,”

Young forward, Dane Scarlett returned to the starting line-up as Portsmouth drew at 1-1 at home against Shrewsbury Town.

And to end the round-up, Joe Rodon returned to the side following his suspension, but he could only make the bench as his Rennes side were 3-0 winners against Montpellier.
