Spurs have announced an in and an out for loans today..

Its been confirmed that Cameron Carter-Vickers is to return to the club after spending the first half of the season with Sheffield United, whilst Marcus Edwards gets the chance to impress with a loan to Norwich City for the remainder of the season.

CCV made Seventeen Championship appearances and for me somewhat surprisingly appeared in the FA Cup on the 6th of Jan, which begs the question as to what is planned and when a final decision was made on his immediate future. Will we see him loaned elsewhere? I hope there isn`t a thought to selling, as at just Twenty, you would like to think this would be premature. Only time will tell, but as good as it would be to see him play Prem football on loan, I hope he gets games as the priority, as thats the best way to develop him in my opinion. Does this indicate problems with Alderweireld? Otherwise with Verts, Dier, Sanchez and Foyth, you would feel we could just let CCV play.

As for the “Child Genius” of Edwards. its a fantastic opportunity to prove his worth and perhaps develop maturity and discipline, areas rumoured not to be his strongest traits. There is no doubting his ability, but does he have the physicality and maturity to handle a tough league? I guess he is a sensible replacement for our old boy Alex Pritchard at Carrow Road, so again, you hope he proves his worth and gets regular opportunity to play.

It has crossed my mind as to what will happen to another loanee, in Josh Onomah, who has been played all over he pitch at Villa Park and seems to have perhaps lost his confidence slightly and maybe needs to be settled in one role to reach his full potential. Question is, who would take the chance and at least with Villa, they are challenging for promotion and a winning side is always better than a losing one, just as long as you are getting your boots dirty?
