Liverpool Keen on Keane!

Reports suggest that Liverpool are lining up a deal for Tottenham’s Robbie Keane, though possibly a tit for tat rumour, would Spurs realistically consider selling the fans favourite?

Robbie, allegedly a boyhood Liverpool fan would surely be lined up as a partner for Fernando Torres and would be a superb foil for the Spaniard, but would Ramos consider selling the Spurs legend??

The player has stated on many occasions that he is the happiest he has ever been at Spurs and the club claim he is not for sale and that Liverpool are wasting their time even bidding…

However, I wonder if Liverpool came in with a £20 million cash offer, would Ramos find this to good an offer to reject?

A couple of months ago I wrote an article along these lines (Would Ramos do the unthinkable? 30th April) and questioned the role of Keane in Ramos’s long term plans.

With the futures of Berbatov and Bent already up for debate, any sale of Keane would be considered a serious NO NO by Spurs fans, but would Ramos be bold enough to risk the wrath of the fans and sell the fans favourite?

If Ramos is looking at a system change next season, will Keane really fit in? Bringing players with pace and a real ability to counter attack may be the way forward for Ramos and perhaps he doesn’t see Mr Keane as the best man for the role.

Would you take the money for Keane and allow Ramos to rebuild to his own blueprint?
