‘Like Buying A Squad Player’ – Spurs Fans React To Figure That Could See Real Buy Out Poch’s Contract

|

The Times are reporting that the club will demand that Real Madrid buyout the full worth of Mauricio Pochettino’s contract if they want to speak to the manager.

Reporters Matt Hughes and Joseph Cassinelli say we would ask for £42.5m in compensation if the La Liga club try and appoint the Argentinian as their new head coach.

Fans on Twitter do not think the figure matches what Poch brings to the club:

Verdict:

The manager has spoken about his future today. He seems fully committed to seeing out his new five-year deal. He also denied that he has a written or verbal agreement with the club which allows him to speak to Real.

Still, Sky Sports, the Guardian and the Daily Mail all say that Pochettino is the Spanish side’s main target to replace Zinedine Zidane. There is a big difference though between wanting someone and actually getting them, especially if the coach in question is not set on leaving.
