The Times are reporting that the club will demand that Real Madrid buyout the full worth of Mauricio Pochettino’s contract if they want to speak to the manager.
Reporters Matt Hughes and Joseph Cassinelli say we would ask for £42.5m in compensation if the La Liga club try and appoint the Argentinian as their new head coach.
Fans on Twitter do not think the figure matches what Poch brings to the club:
That’s nothing to Madrid, that’s like buying a squad player.

I said all along, Poch signed a new contract so that we would get plenty of compensation for if or when Madrid come knocking this summer, none of this is a coincidence, Zidane resigning was already known

so cheap:(

Poch is too smart, he can see the benefit of guiding Spurs to better things against rebuilding an ageing Real Madrid. I hope!

Go Madrid could be out of job within year I can’t see the point at the moment

It’s great that this special relationship between the two clubs is working so well!

Only letting that happen if we get Bale and Ronaldo
— Zach (@20Role) 1 June 2018
Bale, Zidane, Ronaldo, Modric, Isco and Kovacic should do it

Verdict:
The manager has spoken about his future today. He seems fully committed to seeing out his new five-year deal. He also denied that he has a written or verbal agreement with the club which allows him to speak to Real.
Still, Sky Sports, the Guardian and the Daily Mail all say that Pochettino is the Spanish side’s main target to replace Zinedine Zidane. There is a big difference though between wanting someone and actually getting them, especially if the coach in question is not set on leaving.
