Levy Takes The Credit After Interesting Thursday Night At Spurs

|

With Tottenham Hotspur finally completing their long term captures of Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso late on after the summer transfer window deadline had passed at 5pm yesterday evening, one thing that stood out to many fans was how we’d actually structured Lo Celso’s arrival.

He comes in initially on a loan spell, with it believed we then have an optional buy clause worth £55million on the deal, and that could ultimately rise further with add-ons.

Whichever way you look at it, we paid significantly less than the press had stated all summer long, but the loan nature also allows us to see whether he can adapt to the Premier League before we hand over the real cash, and following the outlay on Tanguy Ndombele, it also pushes that potential expenditure into our next set of accounts.

Plenty of fans seemed pleased with that, especially with ongoing doubts about Christian Eriksen’s future.

With plenty of criticism levelled at Chairman Daniel Levy (often unjustified), it’s nice to see some praise go in his direction.
