With Georges-Kevin Nkoudou seemingly on his way to Turkey and Victor Wanyama also looking likely to head out the exit door for Club Brugge, Spurs are in for a busy final few days of the European transfer window, and it could get busier.

The Times report that Spurs trio Serge Aurier, Christian Eriksen and Danny Rose could all potentially leave the club this summer as European clubs head into the final week of the transfer window, with the three Tottenham players already heavily linked with a move away.

With three first-team players potentially leaving with no way of signing a replacement, Spurs fans took to social media to voice their concerns about an already small squad possibly getting more depleted.

Here is what Tottenham supporters had to say on Twitter…

The likes of Kieran Trippier, Fernando Llorente and Vincent Janssen have already left the club this summer.

  • Letting Tripps go instead of Aurier was idiotic!
Having said that, we need now to keep our ex PSG (3rd choice) full back, because that’s where we’re at,
having only (a still undeveloped) KWP as a specialist in that once vital and well covered position. As for Rose going, well that would simply compound the madness of releasing Tripps without a top class replacement. Only Davies would be left (as a first rate full/wing back on either flank) in a Spurs squad which, although obviously seeking different ways of playing these days, surely still needs something akin to that once great quadruple of Walker/Tripps/Rose/Davies! Sheer madness. What are Poch and Levy thinking?!
As for Eriksen, don’t sell before Sept 2nd, unless we get £60m. We won’t ‘tho, and we won’t in January either. If he walks for free after that then, so be it. At least we’ll get a great swan-song season out of him (he knows he’ll have to put himself in the shop window and play damn well to get the contract of his dreams elsewhere next summer) and who knows? .. his very presence this season, combined with our overall squad strength, could finally win us an elusive trophy or two. It will be worth more to Spurs if we retain Eriksen, and he leaves for free in 2020, than if we actually sell him now, or in January! Fact. He’s world class and we need time too behind the scenes to source his long term replacement.
