Left-back ‘on his way out’ of Tottenham in January, defender ‘in talks with Huddersfield’

According to Football.London, Jaden Brown could be ‘on his way out’ of Tottenham in January, with the defender ‘in talks with Huddersfield’ over a move. The left-back has risen through the youth ranks to the fringes of the Spurs first-team, making 15 appearances for the u18s, 12 for the u19s in the UEFA Youth League and 38 for the u23s.

Brown has been a reserve team player this season, with Danny Rose and Ben Davies standing in his way of first-team football, so a departure looks on the cards. The 19-year-old will be out of contract next summer and doesn’t appear to be signing a contract extension with Tottenham, so Huddersfield are looking to capitalise on the situation.

The Terriers could be bringing Brown to the Kirklees Stadium in just a matter of days. Mauricio Pochettino has shown a willingness to develop young players during his time at Tottenham (Davinson Sanchez, Juan Foyth, Kyle Walker-Peters, Eric Dier, Harry Winks, Dele Alli, Harry Kane) but Brown clearly hasn’t impressed him enough to be given an opportunity.

It’s unknown if Brown stands an immediate chance of getting into the Huddersfield first-team, but they believe there’s some potential in him even if Tottenham don’t.
