Barcelona will fight to keep hold of teenage starlet Riqui Puig, according to Sport.
The Catalan publication reports the midfielder could be on his way to us in the summer, but Barca boss Ernesto Valverde is determined for the 18-year-old to remain at the Camp Nou.
Puig was part of the Under-18 squad that won the UEFA Youth League this season, and his progression has reportedly led to the Catalan side redoubling their efforts to keep him.
His contract expires at the end of the season, and while he does have an offer on the table to remain with the La Liga club, he is considering other offers as well.
One of those offers is said to be from us. We will likely have made a contract proposal significantly higher than what he is already on at Barcelona, and we’ll just have to wait and see whether it is enough to persuade him to move to England.
