Spurs defender Ledley King is not really able to train during the week but he still hopes that he can have an England future and wants to go to next summers world cup finals.

From Vital England:

Although it would appear unlikely to happen King has not given up hope of going to next summers world cup finals with England.

The last time King was called up, back in April, when he was unable to train with the squad he was sent back to Spurs by Fabio Capello. Although, as he told The News of the World, the 29-year-old still holds some hope of going to South Africa: ‘I don’t want to close to door on my international career then regret it.

‘If there is a way we can all agree how it could work, I would love it.’

Chronic knee problems see King play for Spurs on a weekend and then pretty much sit out training all week, something that is accepted with his club but he does not think this is the same with England but if this could be accepted and a compromise met he would be delighted: ‘everyone at the club accepts what I do. With England it is different because people are not used to a player who might be sitting out most of the trainings sessions.

‘I just hope something can be sorted out. It would great to be part of the World Cup next summer.’
