Spurs Word On The Tweet

“My heart dropped”, “This is weird” – Lots of Spurs fans react to intriguing club update

|

Last week Tottenham confirmed that some players had been granted leave to return to their native country, but now an update has followed to inform us that Son Heung-min will be undergoing military service for South Korea.

This had been a long time coming, in truth, and although Son won the 2019 East Asian Football Championship to reduce the amount of time he had to serve to just four weeks, his service had to come eventually.

As a result, the period without football has really worked in our favour, as the forward can serve his country without us having to experience his absence.

Would David Brooks be a good addition in the summer?

Yes

No

He had been out injured and we suffered as a result, having failed to win in six games without him, but he may be able to use his time in the army to build up his fitness.

It is very much a win-win situation for all the parties involved, therefore, and although several of us are no doubt still a little surprised that he has to undertake such a venture, the timing really couldn’t be better.

I wish there were more players out there with the attitude, outlook and disposition of Son he set a huge example both as a professional and as a person, good luck to him during his service.
