Jol – Ref Was Emotional

Martin Jol has said match ref Phil Dowd ‘was a bit emotional’ after sending the Spurs manager off at the same time Hossam Ghaly was shown red.

Jol told Sky Sports:

‘It is an emotional game and I thing the referee was a bit emotional. All I wanted to do was protect my player. I said `you are totally wrong’ and he said `you can go as well’. Hopefully he will rethink the situation.’

I doubt it, does Jol not realise that referee’s are never wrong?

On the red card for Hossam Ghaly who was sent off for violent conduct Jol said:

‘He never did something intentionally, so I think it was harsh.’
