Daniel Levy is a conflicted figure at Tottenham, yet deadline showed that when push comes to shove he can get a good deal over the line.
Fulham were not impressed with how Spurs went about their pursuit of Ryan Sessegnon in recent weeks. Plenty of details of what they claim happened. https://t.co/BNHE6YdWgi

Spurs were able to confirm the signings of Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso on deadline day, yet details have emerged from Fulham vice-chairman Tony Khan about how frustrating Tottenham were to deal with for the signing of the Cottagers star asset.
Although Spurs were able to get their man in Sessegnon, Khan spoke to Fulham’s official website via the Evening Standard that it was a struggle to get a deal done due to Tottenham’s pettiness in not trying to pay the full price for the teenager, and Tottenham fans took to social media to praise Daniel Levy for he went about sealing the deal.
Here is how some fans reacted on Twitter to Khan’s quotes…
Levy is hard work but he's a businessman. Khan sounds like he's taken it personally when it's anything but. Nobody put a gun to Khan's head here, whether it was late in the window or not. Don't blame DL for your failings. No sympathy I'm afraid.

I really love Daniel Levy

……yawn…… “Levy was mean and played hardball and I played hardball back and got every penny”. As others have said, they employed a disastrous strategy of recruitment last summer and are now back in the championship.

Seems awfully moany for a guy who spent £100M last season

I’m not sure why he’s annoyed wirh Levy for trying to negotiate a deal. It’s what people, apart from him seemingly, do. In football and in most areas of business.

Not Levy’s responsibility to get a deal done according to Fulham’s schedule. Could have taken a lower fee and reinvested, but did exactly what Levy does when a player leaves Spurs; got every penny they asked for. Stop moaning about it

The guy must be joking, spurs chairman doing what is best for spurs, good on him. Fulham got the price they wanted just not when they wanted, cry me a river…that's business!

BBC Sport report that Spurs managed to sign Sessegnon for £25m.
