“It’s Time To Move On” – Reported Spurs Defensive Target Discusses His Future

|

With ongoing speculation on the rumour mill about the potential future of Toby Alderweireld at Tottenham Hotspur, one of the firm targets according to the media as a possible replacement has always been Danish international centre-half Joachim Andersen.

The 23-year-old Denmark under 23 international has impressed plenty following his arrival at Sampdoria back in the summer of 2017, and the campaign of 2018/19 was definitely a breakthrough for him in Serie A as he made 34 appearances across all competitions.

Spurs Watch Andersen Alternative On “More Than One Occasion”

With a long stated interest in the player it seems like he’s decided finally that his future should lie away from Italy and a recent report from outlet BT carries a few quotes from him talking about his next move and they suggest that ‘several meetings’ have been had with Spurs over getting a deal done.

“There’s a lot of interest and I look at my options. I have loved my time in Sampdoria – both the fans, the president, the staff, the players and the city, but it’s time to move on so I can develop even more. There are several interested clubs that speak to my agent and I’ll make a decision soon with my family and agent.”

Tottenham aren’t the only club in for him apparently as the likes of Lyon and Arsenal are namechecked in the speculation, but it appears to be a clear ‘come and get me’ plea to somebody as he’s saying the right things, but with finality, about his time at Sampdoria, so we’ll have to see if we answer the call.
