It’s Spurs, It’s Summer – That Means It’s Time For Silly Season

|

Well, it turned into quite a fantastic season for Antonio Conte and Tottenham Hotspur with the club battling back from some major disappointments to semi-comfortably seize fourth place and a Champions League spot, taking north London bragging rights over Arsenal who finished two points below us.

With the 2021/22 campaign now at a close, it is a big summer for Conte as he looks to continue reshaping his first team squad into a far more drilled and consistent outfit for the coming 2022/23 campaign, and the quick and early signing of experienced 33-year-old, Ivan Perisic, it certainly looks like Daniel Levy is going to back him and managing director Fabio Paratici in our search for further success.

With plenty of tasty links circulating in the media, it will be interesting to see who comes in next as there are a few key positions we still need to strengthen in, but if Perisic is anything to go by, it could well be an interesting couple of months ahead for fans.

German striker Jurgen Klinsmann spent two years at White Hart Lane in separate spells, but how many league goals did he contribute?

BTW you’re a good prospect for the forum. Give it a go m8.
The subject doesn’t drop after a week or so but seems to evolve, there’s even a non football thread. 😉

  • 123spurs says:

Niall are you tapping up posters on here. 😁

  • Allan says:

Looking favourable fixture list as before the World cup break we have away fixtures vs United , Chelsea , City and Arsenal . Liverpool at home .
Chelsea being the second match and with the TW business looking to be done early Conte will have enough time to work with the team and hopefully make a statement .

    • PompeyYid says:

Allan, “hopefully make a statement” you are so right there, lets hope it is a big statement, time will tell I suppose.

I really do believe over the next few weeks ins and outs will have a massive affect to us and on our squad.

Is Para and Conte “To Dare is to Do” just a thought lol! COYS

  • Niall D says:

    Lol 123
Doing an old Arry ‘on transfer day.
No I just enjoy the thread, it seems to flow quicker, with responses, you can like a post with out long winded typing, and it evolves.
    Still do this tho…

Haha. good ol harry, I’ll never forget van der vart and davids signings. Yeah I look at it from time to time, legendary amounts of posts on the fourm.

Great midfield engine. Looking like a top 3 side
    123 100% chum.

  • wentworth says:

Bissouma…. Great signing. Will drive our team forwards rather than sideways and backwards. Now to get rid of 4 or 5 unwanteds.

  • 123spurs says:

CE could be another game changer for us at the cost of nothing. 4 top players and only 25mil spent if he signs

  • Niall D says:

Dont forget the Loanees, we need rid of…

  • PompeyYid says:

Welcome to the family Yves, your a true Yid, YY.

8 days into the TW, 4 signings early days, exciting times to be a Spurs fan!

So all I can say is NEXT! COYS

  • PompeyYid says:

Its been quiet like the TW regards Spurs for days on here now.

Nobody got anything to say lol!

Mind all there is ITK bullshit at the mo, no solid info really. COYS

  • 123spurs says:

Looks like richarlason is the top target, LCB and spence.

  • Geofspurs says:

TQ2 …. Hope you’re still around, and keeping well.

Just read that City have enlisted Mary Fowler (19 year old Matilda). Remember I said that Spurs should go for her before another WSL club discovers her. I was hoping Spurs or Chelsea would make a bid for her, but too late now. She will be a total game-changer for City once she settles in.

    • TQ2Spurs says:

Hi Geof, yes still here and all good, hope you are too.

Yes I do remember but I guess City are still a bigger attraction right now even if we had shown any interest.

We let quite a few players go at the end of the past season so expect quite a few new faces. I’ve read that we are pursuing a couple, one from Brighton and one from Villa. Someone with goods links within the club has assured me that the board are keen to make the most of the rapid growth in the womens game and will provide the investment needed to further close the gap to the big 4.

      • Geofspurs says:

TQ …. Just recovered from Flu but all well now. Seems like both the Spurs Men’s and the Women’s teams are moving in the right direction.

As far as the lads go I’m getting the impression that after this TW, and the last one, someone at THFC has decided we need to win a trophy or two. Not a bad idea1

        • 62rovinella says:

We’ve long needed a competitive bench, and a demanding manager who’s not afraid to stand up to the hierarchy, seems we’re getting there.
Shopping early and all, instead of waiting on the what’s left.
          Long may it continue.
          COYS

          • 62rovinella says:

Lest I forget…..big up to you Danny Winter for all the articles..
            I don’t post a lot but I do read everything…bless

  • 123spurs says:

So Ritchie is in, plenty of competitive places and options from the bench etc.

  • Geofspurs says:

I’m beginning to think that ‘the silly season’ is starting to look not-quite-so-silly, after all.
    COYS!

    • TQ2Spurs says:

Hey Geof, let’s hope not. Have you thought about subscribing to SPURSPLAY? Seems good value @ £3.75 sterling per month.

Will you have any interest in the Women’s Euro’s which kick off on the 7th July? Do they have any coverage of it in Aus?
