“It’s Painful…We Need To Put Things Right” – Spurs Player Sounds Determined With Recall Expected

|

With Danny Rose suspended for Tottenham Hotspur this weekend as we go in search of some joy at Goodison Park against Everton, everyone expects Welsh international Ben Davies to slot into the left back spot once again and there are definitely those who would welcome that given Rose’s perceived form at this moment in time.

Having just won three games out of ten in the Premier League, Spurs find themselves down in an unfamiliar 11th spot in the table and we all know how we have struggled so far this year, but Everton does provide an opportunity to build on a more organised Liverpool performance and get back to winning ways to give everyone a lift.

Speaking to Sky Sports during the buildup to the game, Davies opened up on how difficult it had been for everyone this year, but he again reassured fans that the players were doing all they could to turn things around.

“It’s painful times. We want to be in and around the top-four, every season, winning games on a regular basis. It’s stressful, it’s tough, but we’re a professional group and we have got really good lads and the players are willing to put 100 percent effort in every day to try and get back to winning ways. This is our first extended run where it has been a bit tough for five odd years. It is obviously tough in the dressing room when you expect to be going out there and putting in – pretty much when we look back is perfect performances back then, so it’s very disappointing when things don’t seem to click, but in football sometimes you have to take the ups and the downs and maybe not too high when you are flying and when it’s down, it’s about getting back as a team, back as a group and getting back to basics.”

Adding.

“The group is fired up. The group just want to win games, we are a determined group. We need to put things right on Sunday.”

Three points and a better performance would certainly lift spirits.
