It’s All About The Balls For Spurs – Relish Where They Roll

|

It was a lively day on Thursday for Tottenham Hotspur as we were awaiting two fates.

Not only did we have one eye on the Champions League Group Stage draw, our other eye was on the EFL Cup third round draw and who knows how we managed to look where we were going and avoid unfortunate accidents.

On an EFL Cup front, we have been drawn as the home team and we will host fellow Premier League side, Watford. The fixture is provisionally set to take place in the week commencing September 24.

Here’s where it gets interesting. With White Hart Lane unavailable, and Wembley Stadium as we knew, the club have applied to the EFL board for special dispensation to play the game at Stadium MK – the home of MK Dons.

They will make their decision on September 6 and despite the previous media ramblings I’m guessing the caveat is, the EFL Cup does not fall under the Premier League jurisdictions as the Premier League nor European games would normally for the purposes of their rules.

So to the Champions League.

Some have called it the ‘group of death’ and others are absolutely relishing the challenge.

Group B:
Barcelona
PSV Eindhoven
Inter Milan

Exact dates and kick-offs will be confirmed in due course so the club have warned fans not to book anything based on provisional dating.

The first ‘home’ game will take place at Wembley and the club will advise on the remaining two ties.

I can see 12 from 18 there at least, but maybe that’s me?
