It Was More Comfortable For Spurs Than It Felt At Points, Onto The Next Round – Match Stats

|

With the unexpected postponement of the Leyton Orient Cup clash, Tottenham Hotspur had an extra couple of days off as we went into tonight’s Third Qualifying Round Europa League clash with Shkendija.

Manager Jose Mourinho certainly rung the changes, so some had an opportunity to impress and get better minutes into their legs and it looked like we were about to do just that, as Erik Lamela opened the scoring five minutes into the tie.

Despite better dominating, we couldn’t add to our advantage by the break, so all eyes to the second half.

Or maybe not, ten minutes after the restart the hosts were back on level terms and we had a game on our hands again.

With 20 minutes remaining in the game, the ever-reliable Sonny popped up to restore our advantage and added a goal to his earlier assist. Nine minutes later Sonny helped himself to another assist as he set up Harry Kane to put a more confident reflection on the game at 3-1.

And that was how it finished, we were comfortable just with some dodgy moments.
