Tottenham Hotspur’s Eric Dier unexpectedly went viral this week as he posted up a perfectly innocent photo to his social media Instagram account.
Posing for the shot with a couple of Sporting Lisbon players including former Manchester United star Nani, quick-witted fans noticed that a particular part of the picture took most of their attention.
Far be it for me to offer up any kind of personal opinions here, but the phrase ‘he seemed pleased to meet them’ appears to have become a pretty common response.
As did questions of just what the hell was going on.
“Please tell me it’s his phone.”
“Waiting for your verdict on our Erect Dier.”
Even Spurs teammate Jan Vertoghen got involved, offering up.
“You look VERY happy to see them.”
Fans on Twitter didn’t miss a trick either.

I wondered what was up when they said Dyer was our injured now I can see he was feeling a bit horse.

Sometimes I do worry about what I find humorous in life especially as I might not view the image used here in the same light ever again.
