Inter Tipped To Use Italian International As Makeweight in Bid For Dembele

|

Inter Milan may look to include defender Danilo D’Ambrosio in their bid for Mousa Dembele, according to Premium Sport (via TMW).

The Italian is reportedly close to signing a contract extension with the Nerazzurri, but the TV channel believe we are interested in signing the 29-year-old, and that could lead to the Serie A side offering up the full-back.

D’Ambrosio can play right across the back four, playing the first half of last season as a right back before finishing the campaign on the left-hand side of defence.

Whether there is any genuine interest from our end, I have my doubts. Although he is a first-team regular for Inter and got his second cap for Italy in a friendly against France earlier this month, he is close to 30.

He may be an improvement on Serge Aurier in terms of his defensive abilities, but he wouldn’t provide the attacking threat Mauricio Pochettino would require from the right flank.
