With the inevitable and endless speculation about the future of Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino, the press have already had a field day with all the rumour mill nonsense about Jose Mourinho being Daniel Levy pick to replace him. In recent days we’ve even had the likes of Julian Nagelsmann mentioned and for some reason, we can now add England manager Gareth Southgate to the ever growing shortlist.
This particular rumour seems to stem from a Telegraph exclusive – which I can only presume means nobody else invented it first.
Whatever the state of play may or may not be when it comes to Poch and his future at White Hart Lane, I fail to see what Southgate has shown in his locker to even make him a sensible candidate for the job. He hasn’t necessarily operated on a shoestring, nor had any tangible success and at least from my perspective, he’s fallen into the same trap as others when it comes to the national job when it comes to favourites and not picking people based on their relative form.
Thankfully it’s not just me.
southgate can do one.

Are you kidding me Howe or Soutgate !!!!! Might as well ask Sherwood that's how much a backward step either of them would be. The first time Poch has come in for some negative attention and we are already picking out replacement. Just take a second and remember where we were.
