‘I would be gutted’, ‘Not good at all’ – some fans want to keep £60k-per-week Tottenham man

Tottenham have placed Danny Rose on the transfer list and are willing to listen to offers this summer. The money raised from his sale will be used on new recruitments for Mauricio Pochettino but some supporters aren’t happy with the news.

Rose has recently spoken out about the prospect of leaving Tottenham, but he’s also been a fantastic servant since joining the club from Leeds United in 2007. The 29-year-old has made 198 appearances in all competitions, scoring and creating 37 goals. He’s one of the best left-backs in the Premier League and remains first-choice under Mauricio Pochettino.

Rose’s future was initially uncertain in 2017 when he criticised Tottenham over his comparatively low wages. Manchester United were interested in his signature and were reportedly willing to match his £50m asking price, but no deal materialised and he’s since recaptured his best form for Spurs.

The £60k-per-week defender has two years left on his deal but hasn’t signed an extension since 2016. His latest comments about being open to a move away from Spurs and the club putting him on the transfer list suggests there will be a parting of ways this summer. It won’t go down well given the reaction from fans, however.
