Tottenham have placed Danny Rose on the transfer list and are willing to listen to offers this summer. The money raised from his sale will be used on new recruitments for Mauricio Pochettino but some supporters aren’t happy with the news.

Rose has recently spoken out about the prospect of leaving Tottenham, but he’s also been a fantastic servant since joining the club from Leeds United in 2007. The 29-year-old has made 198 appearances in all competitions, scoring and creating 37 goals. He’s one of the best left-backs in the Premier League and remains first-choice under Mauricio Pochettino.

Rose’s future was initially uncertain in 2017 when he criticised Tottenham over his comparatively low wages. Manchester United were interested in his signature and were reportedly willing to match his £50m asking price, but no deal materialised and he’s since recaptured his best form for Spurs.

The £60k-per-week defender has two years left on his deal but hasn’t signed an extension since 2016. His latest comments about being open to a move away from Spurs and the club putting him on the transfer list suggests there will be a parting of ways this summer. It won’t go down well given the reaction from fans, however.

  • Put on the transfer list ? What ? Really.? It’s just clickbait nonsense. No official list. Even though he needs to learn to talk to the media more diplomatically he’s been great on the pitch for the last few months. Takes charge. That jink to get us going against Ajax. Ben Davies has not proven to be the answer on the left offensively. He might improve but he’s no Roberto Carlos is he.

  • It all comes down to Rose and his big mouth, YES he is allowed to have his say and opinions but he doesn’t have the right to keep voicing them to reporters. If anyone of us had an employee that kept running our companies down to the press every time he or she had a problem, everyone of us would get fed up with how our dirty laundry was being laid out for all to see. Yes even if that employee was the best in his or her position as Danny is for us.

I am not saying that Rose wasn’t right nor wrong in what he said, just in how he went about it, also the timing off it, just as the season was kicking off.
To me it all comes down to trust , he messed up big time but was forgiven and kept on and brought back into the squad and after being punished he was made first choice again. I’m sure he was told if he has a problem ever again then by all means voice it but keep it in house, again he didn’t do this so again ‘it comes down to trust’.

You won’t believe me after writing this but I am a massive Danny Rose fan and I hope he stays, if every player in our squad played with as much heart and ferocity as Danny Rose we would be world beaters. The way to think about it is, if Danny’s always running his mouth off to the press about what he doesn’t like about his employers then he must have the same attitude around the dressing room, which could not be good for morale, so maybe this has something to do with the final decision….

  • I have to agree with spirs love click bait rose has been on his way out for like 5 years now. Yet every year he stays and starts. Poch had Davies available down the stretch but I believe Rose started the majority of the games. Didn’t sound much like a guy out of favor with his manager. I also haven’t heard many fullbacks seriously linked with spurs to replace him so I’m not sure I’m buying this bunch of malarkey
