“I Don’t Know What You Expect From Me” – Spurs Man Will Start Against Inter Milan

|

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino was asked about England striker Harry Kane following on from the second loss on the trot to Liverpool last weekend in the Premier League.

With the debate about potential fatigue given his action for his country over the summer and the fact that compared to most players he hasn’t actually had a real break for the last few years, whilst he appears to be a touch lethargic and off the pace – well the debate isn’t going anywhere.

Quoted by Sky Sports Poch confirmed that the 25-year-old would again take to the pitch against Inter Milan as we go into the Champions League campaign in midweek, and he wouldn’t be rested.

“I think we would be crazy to think different. Yes. I don’t know what you expect from me, or what you think my answer should be. He’s one of the best strikers in the world. I don’t care that he wasn’t great on Saturday. He’s going to score goals and he’s going to perform in the way we want and we expect. No problem.”

His answer will no doubt confuse some in the base given Kane’s recent performances, but equally, it’ll be music to the ears for others who don’t get what the fuss is about and will lean on the fact that he broke his August duck in front of goal and he struggles when we struggle as a side.

The simplest way to end this debate, of course, is for Kane to get back on the scoresheet and for Spurs to get back to winning ways – then when the immediate pressure is off, we might see Poch pivot and at least give him 45 minutes off when it’s presumed eyes will be off him.
