Huddersfield Match Thread – Pochettino Faces Some Tough Decisions As Spurs Enter A Defining Period

|

Well, it’s turned into an interesting week for Tottenham Hotspur. A narrow Champions League quarter-final advantage over Manchester City allied to a potential season ending injury for Harry Kane, and we haven’t even got to the possibility of back to back Premier League wins again as we welcome Huddersfield Town to the new White Hart Lane this weekend.

With Son Heung-Min giving us a small advantage on Tuesday evening against Pep Guardiola’s boys, City didn’t go weak for the tie but with a couple of the names rested (unless I’m unaware of an injury or two), it feels like they were looking for a comfortable draw and then to go strong in the second leg.

This opens up questions for Spurs now in Saturday’s early kickoff against the Terriers, do we in fact now really rotate the pack to rest players for the Etihad challenge ahead, or does manager Mauricio Pochettino bank on positive results in the next two – and we more treat the Premier League encounter against City as the one we’ll take more of a risk with?

Decisions, decisions and they will have to be made with three games in the next ten days given our injury list.

For me, three points on Saturday, everything on Wednesday evening and I couldn’t care less what happens a week Saturday given we have Brighton and West Ham following before the turn of the month.
