On Tuesday evening Tottenham Hotspur launched their 2018/19 Champions League group stage campaign with a game at the San Siro against Inter Milan.
With manager Mauricio Pochettino leaving Keiran Trippier and Toby Alderweireld out of the travelling group, it was a much-changed squad that took to the pitch in what was going to be a tough tie.
It was the perfect game to get ourselves up and running in though given back to back Premier League defeats and whilst the squad was largely as expected, Son Heung-min made his return to the starting lineup after Asian Cup success.
And it all went so well, tied at the halftime break and Christian Eriksen found the net to open the scoring in the 53rd minute of the second half. Five minutes to go for the perfect response, and the hosts hit back twice to take the victory and we invited it on dropping deeper and deeper.
Depressing way to end an otherwise decent Tuesday.
