I held this bit of news back because I wanted to tie it into a poll.
It was suggested last week that Tottenham could rename the historic White Hart Lane in the name of a sponsor so the club can attract more funds to compete at the top level.
Chief Executive Paul Barber confirmed, in a News Of The World article, that the club were looking at all options:
‘We cannot rule out selling the naming rights for the ground. That is one thing which is being considered. It is all about raising the funds which will help us compete at the highest level. Of course a Champions League place would massively improve those plans but we have other ways of raising more income for players – one of the biggest deals we will make will be a five-year shirt sponsorship.’
White Hart Lane has remained unchanged for over 120 years.
