Christian Eriksen has been at the heart of plenty transfer speculation this summer, but the latest update has proved to be a real kick in the teeth for Spurs.

ESPN report that the Danish playmaker has his heart set on a move to either Real Madrid, Barcelona or Juventus, however, neither of these three sides have shown any interest in signing Eriksen this summer, and there is bemusement at Tottenham as to why the midfielder is locked into this mindset.

Of course, plenty of fans were not happy with this turn of events with Eriksen and took to social media to vent their frustration at their star midfielder.

Here is what some Spurs fans had to say on Twitter…

Eriksen started Tottenham’s last Premier League game against Manchester City.

  • He’s not doing anything that his contract doesn’t allow – if he wants to see his contract out and then sign another one with another club on a free transfer, that is his prerogative.

He is a paid employee. The days of local players turning out for their local team with the mindset of a supporter are in the dim and distant past. The game is all about money now.

I hope we can sell him before the window closes, but if not, then I would expect him to do the decent thing and perform to the best of his ability until his time with us comes to an end.

Whatever happens, I shall be grateful for his service to our club. He shall move on, and so shall we.

  • C’mon you lot out there, Its totally all about Agents. These greedy mo ey grabbing a***holes are making perfectly gentlemanly class players look bad.
Although Eriksen has a pretty poor start to the season, the interest is there, especially from Clubs wanting him on the cheap.
Levy must make a statement clearly, If Pogba is worth 98million then The Dane isworth double. Even if he has missed two penalties so far in friendlies.
I would suggest that European Clubs put up or shut up, and the Media can let him play to increase his value, maybe then Spurs will fire on ALL cylinders either with him or LoCelso getting into the form we spent getting him.
    Simple Logic
    Stop Fannying about.

  • I fully agree…the sooner he is released, the better…we don’t need this kind of attitude in our team..he must just go….he has shown that it’s not just about money, there’s more to it..his heart is no more at Spurs….Levy must make sure he lets him go before he poisons our dressing room, period

  • Drop the transfer fee to £20million get him sold otherwise this will be another sol cambell where he ran his contract down went to arsenal for nothing and spurs lost out on fee.

  • The only way to stop these stupid transfer laws is the players registration at the end of a full term contract is woth 50% of the players true valuation this would stop the greed & control of both the player & his agent because at the moment as it stands the agents control football & clubs are losing out all different ways to a one sided loaded players greed as they can down tools or play below par while getting paid
