Have Spurs Turned A Corner – Five Reasons For Hope As We Stop Hiding – Match Stats

|

Having drawn a line under our recent and very disappointing defeats with a point against Watford last weekend, Tottenham Hotspur were back in Championship action earlier this evening as we welcomed Red Star Belgrade to White Hart Lane for our Group B clash.

Having suffered a heavy defeat to Bayern Munich in our last clash, manager Mauricio Pochettino was again looking for far more from the group as we look to get ourselves back on track.

There was certainly a reaction and we were on the front foot and in control, and Harry Kane made that count nine minutes in, and Son Heung-Min doubled our advantage in the 16th minute. Sonny had his brace one minute before the half time break and the game was ours to lose.

Despite our recent form, thankfully, we didn’t really take our foot off the gas and Erik Lamela added a fourth just ahead of the hour mark to make the game more comfortable and it got even better as we entered the final 20 minutes as Kane completed his brace to make it five.

We all needed that I think, now we find out if it’s the turn of the corner or not.
