‘Great Servant,’ ‘Can’t be too mad’ – Fans React to Spurs Player’s Contract News

The agent of Mousa Dembele has revealed that the Belgian won’t be signing a new contract with the club before the World Cup.

Tom De Mul was quoted by the Evening Standard as saying the 30-year-old has a number of interested clubs who would be keen to sign him this summer:

“Mousa has another one year contract with Tottenham. He has played a fantastic season and there is a lot going on around him – there is a lot of interest inside and outside of Europe, we are waiting for the World Cup and I hope he plays in Russia, because he deserves that after such a good season.”

“Avoid a difficult last year like [Toby] Alderweireld? For the time being, Mousa does not sign.”

Fans on Twitter were disappointed but not surprised by the agent’s comments:

Verdict:

Mousa has 12 months to run on his contract, and it seems by the looks of things he is keeping his options open about his future. De Mul certainly doesn’t rule out the player staying but things don’t look that promising.

All the rumours coming out of the club suggest we are preparing to sell the midfielder, and reports have linked us with numerous players who could replace our no.19 in the squad.

It looks as though the speculation won’t be dying down any time soon about Dembele’s future. We can probably expect some resolution in July.
