Following the speculation linking Academy graduate Cameron Carter-Vickers will an additional loan spell to further aid his development this season, over the weekend Tottenham Hotspur confirmed that the 20-year-old US international had completed a move to Swansea City.
He heads to the Liberty Stadium on a loan spell until the end of the 2018/19 campaign and it should certainly help him continue his growth as a player given his spells with Sheffield United and Ipswich Town last term.
One thing I can take from this is having let him out, it really should end any loose speculation still doing the rounds about a potential departure for Toby Alderweireld and I would think it quashes the speculation around Juan Foyth.
It seems from the reactions on social media from Spurs fans that the vast majority are on board with this latest decision and given we split his time out last season, I wouldn’t be overly surprised if the spell goes well that we don’t try and tempt some Premier League interest in him come January and see how he goes stepping up this level.
Good move for Cameron Carter-Vickers.
More first team football, but I think the only way he can be truly able to improve to Tottenham's level, is if he plays PL football.
He did well at Sheff Utd, but I worry he won't meet Spurs' PL demands in the Championship.#COYS

Will be great for them, and this will be great for him

Why are we getting rid of players right now?

well he signed a new contract just three months ago, and going out on loan is an excellent opportunity for young players to get regular football.
Harry Kane went on loan to Leyton Orient and Millwall.

Looking forward to see what CCV can do on loan at Swansea.
Hopefully he can get a lot of playing time and grow more.
Would be helpful for both #THFC and #USMNT.— Christopher ???? (@ChrisWrighteous) August 26, 2018
CCV going on Loan again suggest the faith he has in Foyth & the potential he has. Hope we see more of him this season or loan him out also to get game time #THFC #COYS https://t.co/AUpEh5sboJ

I can’t get on board with the negative comments I saw about the move, it’s far better he continues getting game time as players don’t develop as well when they are stuck in Under 23 football and CCV is already past that stage given his Championship experience so far.
If Poch doesn’t see him challenging in the first team yet, then the aim is to get him to that position.
