The Scottish Daily Mail are reporting that Celtic will demand £30m if we want to sign Kieran Tierney.

We have been heavily linked with the left-back in recent weeks and reporter Stephen McGowan says that sources close to the player believe the asking price for the defender has been set for interested parties.

In addition to us, Manchester United, Atletico Madrid and surprisingly Bournemouth are the three other teams looking at the Scottish international. Fans on Twitter are mostly enthusiastic about the full-back joining us:

The doubts surrounding the future of Danny Rose have fed into stories linking us with signing a new left-back. Certainly, Tierney is one of the most promising young defenders on the market.

However, there are some major doubts over whether the player is even interested in leaving Celtic. He is a boyhood fan and only signed a new six-year contract back in October last year.

  • Big amount of money for a Scottish full back remember Hutton a poor player that’s why he has been jumping around clubs to get an easy league team to suit his poor qualities be careful here Levy . the Scottish mickey mouse league has pit falls galore in producing quality players .

    • really pal who was the last engerland club tae beat Celtic.Hutton played for a team of unwashed skanks so don’t compare any Celtic player tae that midden

  • Forfar FC OR Cowdenbeath should try to entice Harry Kane to join on loan for a season!!!!!

  • Did not realise he is only 20. Have only seen him play in European games and he looks immense. Deadly going forward and really strong in the tackle. A Madrid know a defender too.

  • Get him signed, those that can remember will remember the great teams of the past that had great Scots players, might be an omen this lad. COYS

  • Why wait, the Scottish league is a physical one,and he’s proved he’s well up to it!!Could prove a bargain in years to come!!

  • He’s already said multiple times he isn’t leaving. From the start until the end of the last two windows there has been a new story every day saying he’s leaving and it hasn’t happened. He signed a 6 year contract and said he doesn’t want to leave.

  • He would be a great addition for Spurs. But the lad is only 20 and I think he made it pretty clear he sees his short term future at our club (Celtic). I would expect him to stay for 1-2 more seasons and then will be terrific for a club like Spurs. LIkewise they will be a good club for him.

  • I am a celtic supporter and would be gutted if this bhoy leaves. hes strong quick puts in a good tackle great at tracking back and has good crossing ability. he will fit in well with any team in the world. i know spl isnt the best league in the world but watch him when celtic were in europe. a wee diamond of a player. i hope he stays at paradise though
