Tottenham Hotspur appear to be linked with every Tom, Dick and Harry this summer as we allegedly look to add some quality playmakers to our squad.

According to a report by A Bola (via Sport Witness), we are thought to make a ‘fresh attempt’ to sign Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes as Christian Eriksen is thought to be ‘close’ to leaving us.

Although we are all for bringing the talented playmaker to the club as we previously mentioned in a Spurs Vital Football article, we must admit we do have a couple of questions regarding the information the Portuguese media outlet have provided though.

Firstly, when did we make an original attempt to sign the Portugal international? Surely, you cannot make a ‘fresh attempt’ at signing someone if you have not already tried to get a deal to happen?

Also, reports in the past have suggested that Eriksen could find it difficult to leave us after Real Madrid seem to have decided against making a move for him, which begs the question as to who exactly is our Danish maestro ‘close’ to joining?

And, it would seem as though we are not the only ones with the questions regarding the report by A Bola on Wednesday.

Twitter account Hotspur Related relayed the information on their page for all their followers and many of them were as sceptical as us to the information that was being provided.

Lots of them were quick to state that it was unbelievable, whilst one fan just pointed out that the transfer window is called ‘silly season’ for a reason.

Here are some of their reactions…
