Four Shots, 48 Touches – 25-Year-Old Gave His Best For Spurs

|

Two players who have certainly featured in the headlines for Tottenham Hotspur this summer are Harry Kane and Erik Lamela and last night’s Champions League Group stage battle against Barcelona won’t overly see opinions change.

Kane took WhoScored’s Man of the Match for his individual showing in the game as his goal on the night saw him pick up a score of 7.67, but Lamela continues to split the fanbase and he was only marginally behind our England man, with a rating of 7.35 for his goal and assist in the game.

Ultimately the performance wasn’t good enough to take the result as Lionel Messi stole the show as he has a tendency to do, and although we had plenty of spirit and determination on show as we tried to stage a comeback, with those two being the only players to receive a rating of seven or above in the game, is probably a fair reflection on the performance itself.

Individual errors were probably the lowlight for many fans.
