Former Spurs Manager Urges Pochettino To Return For Impressive Championship Starlet

|

You can probably tell we’re in the March international break can’t you, the only news of note in many ways is transfer speculation and former Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp has chipped in with a suggestion.

With the failed chase for Aston Villa Academy graduate Jack Grealish last summer as they gained new owners and took an expected cheap deal off the table, Redknapp believes Pochettino should return for him this summer, tipping the 23-year-old to find a new gear in the future and improve and impress even more in the years to come.

Speaking to Football.London recently, Harry said.

“Apparently they were going to take him, weren’t they? The club was in trouble and maybe Daniel Levy thought he could really get him very cheap. Then the new owners came into Villa and they didn’t need the money suddenly. I love Grealish. I think he’s a real talent, honestly. I love watching him play. I think he’s a kid who could play at the very top level.”

Since returning from injury, Villa have clearly missed him as they again fight for promotion, as he’s had an almost immediate impact helping them to win the last four matches on the spin – whilst also wearing the captain’s armband for Dean Smith’s side.

With two goals and one assist in his last four matches, his 2018/19 tally reads four goals and five assists and he’s clearly the one player that makes them tick as they fell apart in his absence.

I certainly wouldn’t be against this one, but having signed a new deal at the club you’d have to assume a release fee would be in the region of £30million in the current market, if not slightly more.
